Board of Directors
Louise Bergthold has been a member of the Generations Healthcare Network family since 1992. As a registered nurse for over 30 years and in leadership roles for over 20 years she brings a unique blend of experience and skills to the Generation’s management team. Currently she utilizes her knowledge, skills and experience to lead the consultant team at Generations Healthcare Network.
In 1983, she started her long-term care career, joining the Illinois Department of Public Health as a nurse surveyor providing inspections to Illinois nursing homes. In 1992, she left the Department as a supervisor of surveyors to join the organization. She quickly realized there was nothing more important than being a part of a team designed to improve the life of others. Knowing long term care was her future, she obtained her Nursing Home Administrator’s License, which helped her guide many administrators over the years.
Previously, she served as President of the Illinois Council on Long Term Care from 2005-2013, an association of 170 nursing long-term care facilities, and remains as a member of the Executive Board. She also maintains an active role on the Council’s Regulatory and Clinical Consultant Committees.
“Over the years I have had the opportunity to work with so many extraordinary, talented and dedicated professionals,” Louise shared. “Each one improves the lives of others by utilizing their talents and skills. I learn from them every day and am proud to be a part of such a caring team.”
