Sr. Vice President – North
Kirsten Schloss manages the dietary, physical plant, and IT consultant teams. She works with our client facilities’ dietary departments and nutritionists to create menus that are not only nutritious but appealing. Per Kirsten, “proper nutrition is an integral part of recuperation and we want the residents to have a warm dining experience.” She assists facilities with meeting food service sanitation standards and working within a budget.
Keeping up with the changes in the IT world is challenging but her IT analysts stay on top of the facility needs for internet access, computers, camera systems, and access for the electronic health records.
She not only gives guidance to client facilities on the importance of a well maintained, clean and safe environment but provides oversight on renovation projects, including expansion projects. She understands what makes a quality interior. It is one that must be warm, comfortable, and inviting yet functional. She adds her touches to ensure designs enhance the overall environment.
Kirsten has been with Generations Healthcare Network for over 10 years. Prior to taking her current position in 2014, Kirsten was the assistant to Pat McDiarmid, the VP of Physical Plant and Dietary Services. She stated Pat taught her so much and was a great mentor, leading to her success today.
Reflecting on what Generations means to her, “I love that I started here at such a young age and learned so much and continue to learn so much everyday from our leaders. I love the camaraderie and that we all share a goal and that is to provide the best care for our residents.”
Kirsten’s education includes a bachelor’s and master’s degree. She resides in Chicago with her dog Kobe and her husband Robbie, and loves yoga, Pilates, and trying new restaurants.
