National Healthcare Holidays

May 21, 2024

This May, we celebrated two major healthcare holidays: National Nurses Week and National Skilled Nursing Care Week (previously known as Nursing Home Week). Each facility in our network celebrated in its own unique way to honor the dedicated staff who are so vital to our industry.

National Nurses Week, held from May 6th-12th, was an exhilarating event. These healthcare heroes are often referred to as the heartbeat of healthcare, and we wholeheartedly agree. In Skilled Nursing, our residents and patients come to us during one of the most challenging stages of their lives. Our nurses provide essential care, advocacy, and compassion to those in need. They are the frontline healthcare providers, the bridge between medical knowledge and patient understanding, and the unwavering advocates for their patients’ well-being. As the cornerstone of our quality of care, they deserve our full support and recognition. Every day, facilities provided different treats and gifts to show appreciation for their efforts. We celebrated with goody bags, raffles, gift cards, snacks, food trucks, lunches, breakfasts, and plenty of fun-filled activities.

National Skilled Nursing Care Week, celebrated from May 14th-20th, honored all the individuals involved in our facilities. Healthcare encompasses far more than just medical knowledge; it includes everyday interactions from every department that enhance our residents’ quality of life. For many, our facilities are their homes. Every patient deserves respect and dignity, and our staff works tirelessly to provide the best care possible. Each department is integral to upholding this quality of care: from maintenance to culinary staff, caregivers, leadership, and housekeeping, all are interwoven in a patient’s care. We recognized our staff with themed weeks, where every facility did something different and unique. We offered thoughtful gifts, coffee and donuts, and facility-wide activities like a carnival and a giant banana split, among many others.

These national healthcare weeks bring our facility together to celebrate the amazing people who live in and trust us with their care. We unite in the common goal of providing a loving, comfortable and nurturing environment for everyone to succeed and flourish.
