More Than 30 Years of Halloween Spirit: Our Annual Community Hop
Some traditions are too much fun to outgrow. For more than 30 years, our consulting team has celebrated Halloween by getting into costume, hitting the road, and bringing a little extra excitement to our communities through our annual Halloween “community hop.”
Each year, our team puts together a themed costume celebration before piling into a bus or car to begin the journey. With several communities to visit, each stop brings a new party, a different theme, and another opportunity to celebrate together.
The timing is part of the fun. Each community plans its Halloween party around our arrival, which means we walk through the doors right as the festivities are in full swing. Food, dancing, colorful lights, smoke effects, and laughter set the scene—and the costumes make every entrance memorable!
Our community teams bring plenty of creativity of their own. Elaborate decorations transform familiar spaces, while coordinated costumes and themed parties give each celebration its own personality. Every stop reflects the thought, effort, and enthusiasm our teams put into making Halloween special for the people in their care.
Once we arrive, it’s time for our part of the tradition: a parade through the hallways with music, candy, treats, and trinkets to share. Along the way, there are plenty of smiles, laughter, and opportunities to say those familiar magic words: “Trick or treat!”
These visits also give our consulting team time to connect with the people and teams who make each community special. Sharing a dance, admiring a creative costume, or stopping for a friendly conversation becomes part of the celebration.
More than three decades after it began, our Halloween community hop continues because of the people who bring it to life. Thank you to every community team for welcoming us, planning such festive celebrations, and keeping this tradition going.
Until next year, we’ll be thinking about our next costumes—and looking forward to another round of community hopping!
